E-learning has become the sole method of knowledge transfer, even in developing countries, and e-assessment has become more and more crucial in this digital transformation of education. To fully utilize its potential to improve students’ learning demands, however, it must be understood how deeply and how far it has ingrained itself in teachers' minds. This paper aims to examine the perception of teachers regarding e-assessment strategies in the teaching-learning process as well as the challenges they faced while using e-assessment techniques. For this purpose, the researchers employed a self-constructed tool on a sample of 200 school teachers who are presently working in different institutions across the country. By using appropriate statistical techniques, the findings of the present research work discovered a significant difference in perceived usefulness, compatibility, self-efficacy, and resource facilitation as four important domains of e-assessmentwith respect to the gender of teachers at the school level, it is also observed that no significant difference among teachers as per their gender in awareness, and perceived ease of use and ITsupportsthe domain of e-assessment.On the basis of the findings, it is recommended that there is a need for such training programs and capacity-buildingprograms for school teachers that will increase the self-efficacy and compatibility among them regarding the effective usage of e-assessment and evaluation strategies to create an optimal learning environment in the classroom.
2023-10-01T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2023 Parinka Sharma, Seema Rani Thappa, Jyoti Narayan Baliyahttps://ijems.net/index.php/ijem/article/view/378PRACTICALITIES OF EVOKED POTENTIAL IN EXERCISE AND SPORTS SCIENCE2023-08-23T07:38:31+0530Puneet Bhattacharyapuneetbhattacharya.ped@jadavpuruniversity.inSridip Chatterjeesridipchatterjee.ped@jadavpuruniversity.in
Evoked Potential (EVP) is an electrophysiological tool to measure sensory conduction from the eyes, ears and somatosensory areas in clinical settings since, computer assisted neurological techniques became readily accessible. First stimulus-based EVP on human scalp was recorded by Pauline Davis in 1939. However, EVP as a measure of neurocognition through sports performance and habitual exercise is a novel area of research. EVP appropriately measures the sensory pathways. Thus, making its application a worthy mention to understand cognitive growth among the players and practitioners. The objective of the study implicates the applications of evoked potential in exercise and sports to understand its practicality over other electrophysiological tools. Anatomical considerations along with Vedic literature references were considered to understand the sensory and muscular coordinates and the impact of regular exercise and training on sports players. Handful of available related literatures were gathered and presented in this conceptual study. Practicalities of evoked potential measures to portray three domains of exercise and training effects which include; Ball games, mind body exercise and graded training. Research is few and needs more study in this area, however available evidence clearly indicates that evoked potential is a direct measure of the sensory pathways represented as graphical wave recordings which are easy to interpret. Thus, EVP being a simple direct neurocognitive tool is recommended over the other techniques to establish the role of exercise in the development of sports players and practitioners.
2023-08-23T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2023 Puneet Bhattacharya, Sridip Chatterjeehttps://ijems.net/index.php/ijem/article/view/400MEDITATION: A THERAPEUTIC VIEW2023-09-22T08:35:09+0530Rekha BhardwajRkh_2711@yahoo.com
Meditation is an ancient technique that has recently been extracted from its spiritual framework, and applied to therapy for the enhancement of personal well-being.Although we have limited ourselves to reviewing studies that refer only to meditation as a technique, there is abundant literature that relates meditation to a religious-philosophical framework. It could be argued that in extracting the technique from its theoretical and belief context, the meaning and effect of meditation is deprived of its essence--just as an interpretation, cognitive challenge, or a paradoxical injunction would not have the same impact/outcome when removed from its therapeutic context. There are different types of meditation, but all seem to be fundamentally based on the concept of self-observation of the subject's psychic activity in the here and now, with an acceptance of process rather than content. The practice of meditation has positive short- and long-term rewards, the main ones being a calm self-control, called 'the relaxation response'. These effects include a wakeful hypo metabolic physiological state and a balance of the parasympathetic or trophotropic and sympathetic or ergotrophic functions. The evidence of meditative physical effects is consistent with increasing evidence of the biological impact of psychological interventions. It refutes convincingly the stereotypical criticism that talking therapies 'do nothing' or are 'just' placebo.Meditation is not free from side-effects, even for long-term mediators or experienced teachers. Nor is it free of contraindications.
2023-09-20T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2023 Rekha Bhardwajhttps://ijems.net/index.php/ijem/article/view/371DOWN TURN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS PARTICIPATION IN INTER-COLLEGE COMPETITION AT CH. The concepts of gender mainstreaming to empower women, gender equality and gender equity were identified as key factors in promoting women's quality of life. In the ancient Olympic Games, women were not allowed to participate, they were not even allowed to see the games. The overall concept has now changed days. The sports and sports program is a part of the entire educational system. The program of physical education and sports activities should be based on the interests and needs of the students, institutions and also the structure of the organization. University-level physical education classes should be sufficient for modern youth to acquire fine motor skills for the future development of women's sports. The young women of the universities and colleges are the best prospects for the future to achieve top performance in the field of sports. It is acceptable that India's achievements in physical education and sport are negligible. It is also accepted that the performance of Indian University. The youth are not even close to their counterparts in Europe and other nations. It is defined by the three dimensions of exhaustion, cynicism, and professional inefficacy. As a reliably identifiable job stress syndrome, burnout clearly places the individual stress experience within a larger organizational context of people's relation to their work. Burnout impairs both personal and social functioning. This decline in the quality of work and in both physical and psychological health can be costly not just for the individual worker, but for everyone affected by that person. Interventions to alleviate burnout and to promote its opposite, engagement with work can occur at both organizational and personal levels. The social focus of burnout, the solid research basis concerning the syndrome, and its specific ties to the work domain make a distinct and valuable contribution to people's health and well-being.
2023-08-22T00:00:00+0530Copyright (c) 2023 VishwaDeep Kaushik Sagar, Sophie Titus
