A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF TENDULKAR, GANGULY & DRAVID’S BATTING PERFORMANCES FOR TEAM INDIA IN ODI AND TEST VENUES

Abstract

The objective of the study was to compare the performance under various conditions displayed by the Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid during their cricket career. Each score of Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid’s batting performance in ODI and Test career and those of Sachin Tendukar, from his debut match up to 3rd of September, 2012 has been considered in the study. Scores were downloaded from the website of Cricket info (http://wwwespncricketinfo.com), and there after the calculation of all their scores were done as per ODI matches &Test matches.Though some mean differences were observed in every analysis, no significant difference was found except for the neutral venue ODI matches among the variances at 95% level of confidence. From the results of the study it may be concluded that the batting performance of Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly were equally better in case of neutral venue ODI matches than Rahul Dravid, but in all other venues of ODI AND Test matches performances of all those great cricketers were almost equal.
